Clubhouse Reconstruction Update Thank you for your patience as your executive work through the many facets of preparing for the upcoming season. This has been especially challenging because of the planning work to ensure we have a new Clubhouse delivered prior to opening day in May. We are happy to report that all the hurdles have been cleared to deliver on the new Clubhouse, with the following schedule: Design Drawings - Complete Budget & Scope of Work - Complete Demolition of old building - February 15. Day One Davis Cup – Split decision

Both matches on Friday’s opening day of the Canada – Great Britain Davis Cup World Group at the Arena at TD Place in Ottawa were one-sided affairs. In the first singles, British No. 1 Daniel Evans defeated No. 2 Canadian Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 and that was followed by Canada’s No. 1 Vasek Pospisil’s victory over No. 2 Briton Kyle Edmund 6-4, 6-1, 7-6(3). While the dramatic quotient of the matches wasn’t the most compelling, the results created the desired scenario for the weekend with the best-of-five match tie guaranteed to go into Sunday with everything still in play. "Tennis Rocks" Festival a Huge Success

The third annual Tennis Rocks! Festival was held May 28th at the Aviva Centre. The event was again co-hosted by the OTA and the InterCounty Tennis Association. Congratulations to the Markham Ladies B2 team who made it to the finals against the Aurora team and put on a great showing. This year there were a record 41 teams, including 16 in the U10/U12 category, playing in a friendly competitive environment? Everyone went away with a prize. Other activities, including skill games, the Pizzaville Smash Cage, prize giveaways and Pizzaville hospitality took place on Centre court and around the grounds.
