Markham Tennis Club is embarking on a revitalization effort to foster more active lifestyles through the sport of tennis. The community has been well serviced by the club for almost 50 years, but aging infrastructure has prevented it from achieving its full potential as a vibrant tennis facility for all age groups, demographics and abilities. The work will be completed in phases over the next 2-3 years:
Phase-1: The North 3 courts were fully rebuilt in 2014, along with new fencing.
Phase-2: Replace the aging clubhouse with assistance from the City of Markham, and replace the old wooden deck with a larger accessible patio. Some cleanup of the entrance stone and walkway will be done at the same time. Target Date: April 2017
Phase-3, the South fencing will be replaced by the City. Target Date: April 2017
Phase-4, the South 3 courts will require resurfacing in the near future and this will be arranged as soon as feasibly possible.
